950th Spectrum Warfare Group

MISSION
The 950th Spectrum Warfare Group assesses the range of Air Force Electromagnetic Spectrum capabilities from individual aircraft components to large force integration. 950th Spectrum Warfare Group assessments provide senior Air Force commanders and warfighters surety in their EMS capabilities, identify areas for improved tactics, and inform future Air Force EMS acquisitions.

Develop and execute comprehensive, integrated, real-world EW effectiveness and readiness assessments.

Combat Air Forces optimized for any fight through rigorous electromagnetic spectrum assessment.

PERSONNEL AND RESOURCES
The group manages the Air Force COMBAT SHIELD Electronic Warfare Assessment Program for combat aircraft EW systems through the 87th Electronic Warfare Squadron. COMBAT SHIELD provides operational units a system-specific capability assessment for their radar warning receivers, electronic attack pods, and integrated EW systems. The group’s 17th Electronic Warfare Squadron assesses large force integration of Air Force and allied aircraft, providing near real-time assessment to warfighters, ensuring rapid incorporation of lessons learned for sustained combat operations. Future growth areas include the expansion of the COMBAT SHIELD mission as well as EMS modeling and simulation assessments.

The 950th Spectrum Warfare Group activated on 1 August 2024.
